So i was going to post this yesterday, before the Dodgers fell to 2-1, but I wasn’t able to get to it. Here is a picture of Russell Martin accepting his Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards. That doesn’t happy too often…
Here are some pictures from the baseball game held at the Coliseum tonight.
So we are going to the big game tomorrow night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. It should be a lot of fun, although I’m not quite sure how much I will enjoy the other 114,998 people that are there. But I can say I was there. I’m even going to wear my Los Angeles Dodgers 1958 shirt that my best friend Doug got me years ago. We were thinking about taking one of the metro lines in LA to the Coliseum, but unfortunately there aren’t any lines that are close enough to walk to and form and feel safe at 10 PM at night. LA parking it is! I’ll be posting pictures of the event on Sunday. I’m charging up my Canon Digital Rebel XT right now.
I just wanted to let everyone know I’ve officially started my sports blogging career. I’m planning to dedicate 4-5 days a week to posting on my Let’s Go Dodgers! blog. If you are at all interested in following it you can either subscribe to get email from the site, you can signup as a user and subscribe (which would also allow you to post). Also I have something called OpenID installed which means you can login with your Livejournal login and it will save your user on my site and log you in so you can post comments as well. Or you can subscribe to the sites RSS feed.
I’d really like to get any and all constructive comments and criticism. I’ve never claimed to be a writer, but I’d like to improve my writing skills in this area. One of my first loves is baseball, and especially Dodgers baseball. True I’ll never be a great blogger, but even if I only get a couple people to read my news and thoughts, I’ll be happy. If you have any questions about the site you can post them here, on the site or email me at daniel@letsgododgers.com.
I got a new baseball book a couple days ago, Fantasyland. It’s a great read, I’m already 100 pages into it. Pretty much it’s non fiction book about fantasy baseball. Anyone that enjoys baseball and fantasy baseball should give it a read, it’s a fun book .
So after 1 year away from keeper league fantasy baseball, I’m back on the wagon, or is that off the wagon? My best friend Doug who I’ve been in a fantasy baseball league of some quality since high school started a league with another friend of ours last year, after the previous keeper league we did died. Well one of the guys that is a mutual acquaintance ended up dropping out, and Doug asked me if I wanted his team. After thinking about it for awhile I decided to take over the team. Unfortunately this team will require a big make over to become the type of team I’m proud to call my own. This is what I got to work with so far. Take into consideration that this is the full roster, of which I have to select 17 to keep by next weekend. Those that are bold are the ones I’ve currently decided to keep (things may change). But I don’t know all the league rules regarding positions to make a completely educated decision yet.
